Happy Birthday, my Jo(e)y.

My baby turned two.

I was driving to the ranch this morning, thinking about you, Joe. I was on my way to pick up a birthday hat and decorations to hang outside of your stall and a song came on.

Carry You Home by Alex Warren

“I need you to know

In this life and every life

I choose us every time.”

Now Joe, I’d be lying if I said I thought of you first. I couldn’t stop thinking about your dad (MJ) when it came on, we just took him to the airport but I missed him already. I recapped the weekend we had in my head.

Yesterday especially, your last day as a one year old, we spent the evening with you, playing in the round pen. I watched you two, the connection you’ve developed and it made my heart so happy, sharing you.

My joy has become his joy, Joe. You
